Attached Teams at Stirchley

Attached to, or visiting the practice, we have a number of teams or services. We all work closely together to provide care for all people on our list. Below are descriptions of the different teams and their members. There are also details of the services they provide, as well as contact numbers for the teams

District Nurses
Annie Cuthbert (Team leader)
The team of district nurses operates from the same building and covers nearly the same area. If you cannot get to the practice nurses in the surgery, they provide nursing duties in the home and can be contacted on: 01952 595702 (Answerphone 01952 591632).

Midwives
Sharon Waters and the Emerald team
Visit the practice on Mondays 1.30 p.m. - 3.10 p.m. and Wednesdays 10.00 a.m. - 11.40 a.m. for antenatal clinics. Otherwise contacted on 01952 254722
Child and Family
The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team visits on a Wednesday. They operate their own appointment system. To be seen by the team, you will need to see your own GP who can make a referral to CAMHS if you both think that is appropriate.
Pharmacy
There is a pharmacy on the same site as the medical practice. The surgery has close links with the pharmacy in order to provide a comprehensive service. The pharmacy provides standard services such as prescriptions, home delivery, and provision of doset boxes as well as supervised consumption of methadone and selling a limited range of toiletries.
Dentist
The Stirchley Dental Practice is located on the same site as the medical practice. It is a completely independentorganisation, though we can liaise, with your consent, if there is a need. They do offer NHS dentistry, though there is a waiting list. We recommend regular dental checks to avoid problems. Doctors at the medical practice are not trained in dental skills and so it is best to refer all dental problems to a dentis. If you are not registered with a dentist, but you have a dental problem, we suggest you contact the local dental helpline on 01952 606450. Alternatively, you can visit the West Midlands Dental Helpline, a link is included on the left of the page.
Chiropody
A chiropodist visits weekly. She will see all diabetic patients by appointment. She also operates a drop in gait clinic for children where there is concern about walking. This happens on the first friday of each month between 11:30 and 15:00. You do not need an appointment ahead of the day, just report in to tthe front desk on arrival and ask for the 'Gait Clinic' .
